Beyond the Realm of Conscience

Rating: 4
Date: 2009
Casts: Moses Chan
Tavia Yeung
Charmaine Sheh
Kevin Cheng
Michelle Yim
Susanna Kwan
Great cast and great story. A little too over emphasis with Charmaine's quote all throughout the series, 'Speak good words, do good deeds, show good will'. Seeing their head dresses was giving me a headache let alone the actresses.

Burning Flame III

Rating: 2
Date: 2009
Casts: Kevin Cheng
Wong Hei
Bosco Wong
Myolie Wu
Aimee Chan
Had a good beginning and then it fell apart when they had Wong Hei's character to look so weak because of his relationship with Myolie. Then they had to have Wong Hei look more weak having to beg Kevin for Myolie back. Kevin and Myolie had no spark whatsoever either. What a dissappointment.

Just Love II

Rating: 4

Type: Modern Comedy

Date: 2009

Cast: Jessica Hsuan
Sunny Chan
Joyce Tang
Natalie Tong
Benz Hui
Johnson Lee
Has it funny moments, especially when Sunny bumped his head and started becoming a 'big man' towards Jessica. Didn't find the switch of birth between Jessica and Joyce all that interesting. I thought it just dragged the storyline. Benz Hui did a great job acting his part of a 'wut dut lo'

My Blueberry Nights

Rating: 3

Cast: Jude Law

One of those artistically done movies that doesn't have a point. Does make me want to try Jude Law's blueberry pie though.

He discovers that she secretly has a crush on him. Chun needs to make the decision of which women to be with but is faced with the tragic news of his cancer reappearing...

Review: Such a cute series, especially because it involves cats and dogs. I love that Gallen is back at TVB for this series, however he doesn't pair up romantically with Myolie. Margie is kind of annoying in this series.

However, her son Hing (Joe Ma) manages to find his way back to her. Due to reputation purposes, she doesn't tell anybody about his true identity. Her younger son, Cheuk Wah (Raymond Wong) falls in love with Yip Heung Ching (Charmaine Sheh) but because their different status' and Fung Yi's objection, they cannot be together. However, soon enough, Heung Ching and Hing find themselves more than just friends... what obstacles will await them this time?

Review: Even with Liza heading the series, it wasn't that great. Being a period romance, I didn't feel the romance. Wasn't much fireworks from Charmaine or Joe's characters. All the bad things that Joe did and Charmaine was able to forgive him because he did it for his family.

Bar Bender - 潮爆大狀

Rating: 5 out of 5
Type: TVB
Date: 2006
Episodes: 20

Casts: Adam Cheng
Louisa So
Leila Tong
Sammul Chan
Anne Heung
Sek Sau
Power Chan

Synopsis: The series revolves around a fictional Hong Kong senior counsel named Tony Chaing Man-To (Adam Cheng). Senior Counsel Tony is well known for winning 31 legal cases in a row, but is also notorious in legal circles for his unsavory (but ethical nonetheless) tactics. He is also notorious for being retained as counsel by unscrupulous businessman Richard Ngai Sing-Kwan (Bill Chan). His focus on his legal career has also alienated family member and anyone romantically involved. His daughter, Stephanie Chiang Si-Ting (Leila Tong), particularly hates him for not only his modus operand in legal battles (strike a victory on procedural errors, and not on evidence).
All this changed when Tony was dealt a career blow by Richard. In an assault case involving Richard, Richard asked Tony's apprentice, Darren Li Kong-Tak (Power Chan), to conspire in a conspiracy to bribe a witness and have him lie in court by professing amnesia. When Tony protested, Richard fired Chiang, and cut off much of the businesses that came to Tony's law firm. In the process, Tony lost his girlfriend, Sophie So Yeuk-Fei (Anne Heung), to Richard. Tony drowned his sorrows in alcohol, and assaulted a foreigner at a bar. Chiang pled guilty to assault, and was sentenced to community service. That was where he began to rediscover the lost idealism and righteousness of his youth and met Chong Hiu-Wai (Louisa So) whom showed him there is more to life...

Review: Loved the series. The cases in the series were entertaining. Although I thought Adam was a tad exaggerated with his acting this time, I still enjoyed his performance.
